Fatma joined the Conway group as a postdoc in March 2025. She is currently working on Small Molecule Ligands for BET-like Bromodomains in Schistosoma mansoni.

She is an organic chemist with a focus on synthetic and medicinal chemistry. She graduated in second place from the Department of Chemistry at Yildiz Technical University/Türkiye and completed her master’s under the supervision of Prof. Nuket Ocal, working on “Synthesis and Activity Studies of Novel Heterocyclic Molecules as Potential Anti-Cancer Agents and GSK-3β Inhibitors.” She earned her PhD in Organic Chemistry at Gebze Technical University/Türkiye under the supervision of Prof. Ramazan Altundas, focusing on “The Synthesis of Asymmetric Isoxazoline Derivatives and 1,2-Oxazepine Derivatives from Furan Derivatives.” She has also contributed to the scientific community as a member of the organizing committee and scientific coordinator at medicinal and organic chemistry conferences held in Türkiye.

In her free time, she enjoys exploring new destinations, spending time with her cats, and practicing pastry making.
