Emmanuel graduated with a B.S. in biological sciences from UC Santa Barbara in 2015 and an M.S. in chemistry from University College London in 2017. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked as a research scientist in a biomaterials research laboratory, and as a chemist for an analytical testing company. He grew up in the L.A. area, and enjoys playing guitar, hiking, and reading.
