Cody joined the Conway group as a postdoctoral fellow in June 2026. His research focuses on developing targeted protein degradation technologies for the parasite Schistosoma mansoni and designing novel molecular glues to modulate disease-relevant protein targets.

Originally from Indiana, Cody earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Ball State University in 2021 before beginning his graduate studies with Prof. Darci Trader at Purdue University. He later moved with the Trader lab to the University of California, Irvine, where he received his Ph.D. in Pharmacological Sciences. His doctoral research centered on chemical biology and proteostasis, with an emphasis on harnessing the proteasome and its isoforms to develop new therapeutic strategies, including proteasome-activated prodrugs and ByeTACs (Bypassing E3 Ligase Targeting Chimeras).

Cody's research interests lie at the interface of medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, and targeted protein degradation, with the goal of developing innovative therapeutic strategies for diseases with unmet clinical needs. His work has been recognized with several honors, including the 2026 Robert M. Scarborough Award for Graduate/Postgraduate Excellence in Medicinal Chemistry from the American Chemical Society and the 2026 Henry Wood Elliott Award for Research Excellence.
