The TESL Ontario required training for OCELT & ICTEAL Certification consists of at least 250 hours of instruction in TESL theory and methodology, at least 30 hours of observation, and at least 20 hours of supervised practice teaching.
The training delivery modes are in-person, online, and blended. However, please note that no more than half of the required practicum hours (i.e., 15 hours of observation and 10 hours of supervised practice teaching) can be completed online. All online observation and online supervised practice teaching (if any) must be conducted synchronously.
