Workshop overview
This workshop explores the various opportunities and challenges associated with conversational agents, which are increasingly prevalent and capable with the advent of modern LLMs. Conversational agents can be used in many scenarios, such as facilitating communication between humans, persuasive designs, and representing humans in conversations. However, these use cases also create potential ethical and social concerns, such as cognitive disengagement and negative perception transfer. In this workshop, we explore the various uses and concerns for modern conversational agents. The workshop includes an interactive panel discussion with experts from various domains, with experience in a range of research areas surrounding conversational agents. We also invite participants to share their own work through a mini-poster sessions, and discuss it with fellow participants. This workshop serves as a valuable opportunity for interested individuals to meet and network with fellow researchers, students, and industry practitioners, and share and exchange ideas through interactive discussion sessions.
