OVERVIEW
Labor Log does not require an account, and we do not sell personal information. You time contractions with START and STOP, add or correct entries, and review each session with averages for the last hour. Your sessions, notes and settings are kept in the app's storage on your device. The app also uses Google services and an advertising mediation partner for analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and advertising.
INFORMATION STORED ON YOUR DEVICE
For each session the app keeps when it started and ended, its contractions, and the start of a contraction that is being timed. For each contraction it keeps the start and end time, the intensity you choose, your note, whether it was added later, when it was last changed, and timing evidence used to measure durations: the time since the device was switched on and the device's boot count, both read from Android, and whether you confirmed the times. The app also keeps the optional rule you enter (spacing, duration and observation window), the session you last selected, and a list of IDs of deleted sessions and contractions so that restoring an older backup does not bring them back; this list is kept without a limit. There is no fixed limit on the number of sessions or contractions.
The app may also store basic operating information such as cached advertising settings and a cached More Apps list. If saved data cannot be read, the app does not overwrite it and offers Retry and a recovery copy instead.
The developer does not run a server that receives your sessions. The app reads developer-controlled advertising settings and a More Apps list from Google Cloud Firestore, but it does not upload your sessions, notes or rule. When you open "Other apps" in Settings, app icons are loaded from the web addresses in that list.
SUMMARY, QR CODE AND BACKUP FILES
When you open a session in History, the app shows a QR code that it generates on your device. The QR code holds a short summary of the last hour: the number of contractions, the average duration, spacing and rest, a time in UTC, and a mark when values are estimated. It does not include your notes. Anyone who scans the code can read this summary. "Share last-hour summary" sends a text summary through the Android share sheet; it lists the start time, duration, spacing, rest and intensity of each contraction in the last hour, together with your notes. Where you send it is your choice.
"Create backup" in Settings writes one backup file containing your sessions (including notes), your rule and the deleted-ID list into a folder in the app's cache, and then opens the share sheet. If file sharing is not available, the same content is shared as text. When saved data cannot be read, "Recovery copy" shares an unchanged copy of the app's saved files in the same way. After sharing, the file is kept in the cache for a while, because the receiving app may still read it after the share sheet closes. Each time the app starts, it deletes backup and recovery copies in that folder that are more than 24 hours old, together with leftover temporary files; a copy whose age cannot be read is kept. Android may also clear the cache. Copies you send or save elsewhere stay where you put them, and the app does not delete them.
"Select backup file" in Settings opens the Android file picker. The app reads only the file you choose, does not keep its own copy of that file, and merges its records with yours; records you deleted stay deleted.
PERMISSIONS
The app does not ask for any permission while you use it. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts, photos, Bluetooth, health data, or notifications, and the file picker gives the app access only to the file you choose. It uses internet access and the Android advertising ID permission for the services below, and vibration for short haptic feedback. While a session is open on the timer screen, the app keeps the screen switched on.
ANALYTICS, CRASH REPORTING, AND ADS
Google Firebase Analytics may process limited app-usage and technical information, such as automatically collected app-open and session events, whether a review request from the exit dialog was attempted, unavailable or failed, ad revenue events (ad format, value, currency and precision), app version, device type, and app-instance identifiers. These events do not include contraction times, notes or your rule.
Google Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and related technical information needed to diagnose app problems.
The app shows ads through Google AdMob. A banner may appear at the bottom of History when no session is open. Full-screen ads may appear when the app opens or returns to the foreground, and occasionally after you end a session. The app does not start a full-screen ad while a session is open (not yet ended). AdMob may also request ads from the InMobi mediation network. Google and InMobi may process advertising identifiers and device, app, consent, network, and ad-performance information to provide and measure ads, and may use an IP address to estimate an approximate location even though the app has no location permission.
ADVERTISING CHOICES
When the app starts, Google's consent message (UMP) is checked first. Where consent is required (for example in the EEA and UK), personalized advertising stays off unless your choice allows it, and if the consent result does not allow ad requests, the app does not request ads. Where no consent message is required, ads may be personalized. If the consent message cannot be loaded, the app still requests non-personalized ads, personalized advertising stays off, and the "Advertising privacy choices" option is not shown until the app is started again. Where Google requires it, Settings shows "Advertising privacy choices", which reopens the consent message so you can change your advertising choice. The app works whatever you choose.
STORAGE AND YOUR CONTROL
You can delete a contraction on the timer screen or in History, and delete an ended session in History; Undo adds a deleted item back as a new copy. You can clear your rule in Settings. Deleted items are removed from the app's records, while their IDs stay in the deleted-ID list described above. You can also clear the app's data in Android settings or uninstall the app. Local data may be included in a Google or device backup depending on your backup settings; uninstalling normally removes the active copy but may not remove an older backup. Summaries and backup files that you shared or saved elsewhere are not removed by these controls.
Because we do not receive your sessions, we cannot delete them for you; the controls above remove them from the app. For questions about data processed by Google or InMobi, or to ask us for help with a privacy request, contact us at the address below.
Data processed by third parties is retained according to their service settings and policies. We use these services under their applicable terms, and we ensure that third-party service providers with whom we share user data provide the same or equal protection of that data as stated in this policy.

SECURITY
Your sessions and settings are kept in the app's private storage on your device, which the operating system protects from other apps; they are not separately encrypted by the app, so protect your device with a screen lock. Apart from the limited analytics events described above and the summaries or files you choose to share, the app does not upload your saved data. Communication between the app and Google services and the ad mediation partner uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we limit what the app collects to what is described in this policy.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
This app is a timer and log. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. Always follow your healthcare provider's advice and contact them whenever you are concerned. A rule you enter only compares your recorded contractions with the numbers you typed; matching a rule does not decide whether to seek care. Times marked with ~ are estimates, for example after the phone restarts during timing. If you think you need urgent help, contact your healthcare provider or emergency services without waiting for the app.
CHILDREN
The app is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
CHANGES
We may update this policy if the app or its services change. The date above shows the latest revision.
