Crustal Deformation Research Group
PhD,2019, IIT Bombay
I am a geoscientist with research and teaching interest in Structural Geology, Tectonic-Geomorphology, Landscape Evolution in Fold and Thrust belt settings.
My research work involves studying Fold and thrust belts like Himalayas. It includes Structural field mapping and quantifying fault/shear zone architecture associated with major faults to constrain deformation mechanisms. Structural aspect of fault zones is then integrated with the tectonic- geomorphology to get insights into the broader picture of Fault zone deformation and neotectonic assessments of a tectonically active region. The Group research involves interdisciplinary approach to study deformation related landscape evolution under tectonic-geomorphology domain to get integrated insights into the deformation, neotectonics and natural hazards in tectonically active regions.
