Conte di Puglia is located in a typical basement ('sottano') of Bari Vecchia, whose walls housed an ancient mattress shop until 2018, providing sweet dreams to the residents of Bari Vecchia for over 50 years.
In 2022, the premises of Conte di Puglia were finely renovated, respecting its original features such as the vaulted ceiling and the arch that offers a romantic frame to the bedroom, creating an authentic atmosphere for its guests.
The street where the dwelling is located is named after Roberto il Guiscardo, an ancient Norman military leader who was born around 1051 in Hauteville-la-Guichard and arrived in Southern Italy around 1047. He became the Count of Puglia in 1057 and was later bestowed the title of Duke in 1059 by Pope Nicholas II.
