Bruno Meyer is president of ConsultBKM, a consultant firm he created in 2020.
He has more than 38 years of experience in industry. Bruno has been active in energy, power systems, telecommunications, R&D and business development.
Bruno Meyer has degrees in physics from Edinburgh (Ph.D), Sao Paulo University (M.Sc.) and Unicamp (B.Sc.).
He is fluent in French, English and Portuguese, and near fluent in Italian and Spanish.
He has held senior management positions in RTE and EDF and EDF Group:
- Senior executive at RTE (2016 – 2019), overseeing business development.
- CEO of telecom company ARTERIA (2011 – 2015).
- VP for EDF R&D in Transmission & Distribution for the whole EDF Group (2007 - 2010).
- Director of several departments at EDF (1995 to 2006):
* Power system dynamics, markets, and technology
* Strategic market studies and customer satisfaction
* Power system planning and economics
Since 1990 is a committed volunteer in several scientific and professional associations.
An IEEE Fellow (2008), he served in IEEE Board of Directors and in the Governing Board of the Power & Energy Society. He was IEEE Division Director (Division VII) overseeing Power and Energy) (2018-2019), and member of IEEE Board of Directors during that period.
He was 2022 IEEE Technical Activities Board Vice-President. He was a member of IEEE Board of Directors in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
He is Eminent Member from CIGRE (1998) and SEE, where he was awarded SEE Ampère Medal (2017).
He co-authored a book on power system simulation and authored or co-authored more than 60 papers or conference papers.
He was elected GO15 Secretary General and serves this association of the world’s largest power grid operators since January 2021.
