CAST Test FAQ
Q. When do I test?
A. Everyone will not test on the same day. You will schedule your CAST test date. You can begin testing on April 9th. Candidates must schedule and complete their test by April 22nd.
Q. How do I schedule my CAST test?
A. Everyone will receive an email from PSI that will include a link to set up a profile and schedule a test. Ensure the information you enter is correct. (Pro Tip: review all materials before hitting submit)
Q. Where do I take the test?
A. Your test will be at one of the PSI Testing Center sites. You will select your test location when you schedule your test.
Q. Will I test using paper and pencil or will it be on a computer screen?
A. PSI Testing Center will administer the CAST test via a computer. You will be seated at a computer to complete the test.
Q. Will I need to bring my own calculator?
A. No, you will use a standard calculator that is embedded in the PSI’s testing program. (Pro Tip: use the number pad on the keyboard rather than pointing and clicking)
Q. Will I need to bring a watch to monitor my time?
A. No, you will have a time clock on the screen that you can use to keep on time.
Q. Can I skip a question?
A. Yes, you can skip a question and return to it later. Remember that you can only do this during the time allowed for that section. Once time for that section is done, you will be unable to return to it.
Q. Will I be penalized for questions that I get wrong?
A. Incorrect answers may prevent you from passing the test; however, if you are running out of time (last two minutes or so) make educated guesses and answer all the questions.
Q. Will I get a physical sheet of paper for scratch work?
A. Yes, you will be given sheets of paper for scratch work. You are not able to take these with you when you leave the test.
Q. If I fail, can I retest.
A. Yes, you can retest. The eligibility periods are as follows:
1st Retest = 90 Days
2nd Retest = 6 months
3rd Retest and on = 1 year
Q. When will I receive the results?
A. All students will receive results on April 26th.
