I am a researcher in Control Theory with a focus on the control of systems of coupled PDEs (Partial Differential Equations) [with underactuations], Nonlinear Observers in finite and infinite dimensions, Inverse Problems for PDEs, and, lately, Control of Quantum Systems.
Applications: Robotics, Neural Networks, (Bio)chemical, Multiphysics, Population and Social Dynamics Phenomena, Evolutionary Game Theory, Superconductivity, Spatio-temporal Neural Networks, Tumor Growth Models, Oceanic and Atmospheric Phenomena, Thermoelasticity, Quantum Computers.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Centre for Robotics (ACFR) of the University of Sydney. I have been affiliated as a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systèmes (L2S), CentraleSupélec (Univ. Paris-Saclay) working within the project ANR Q-COAST (Estimation and Control of Open Quantum Systems), the School of Electrical Engineering, Tel Aviv University working with Prof. Emilia Fridman, and the Laboratory for Analysis and Architecture of Systems (LAAS) of the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in Toulouse (national ANR research project "ODISSE" (Observer Design for Infinite-dimensional SyStEm).
In Sep 2020, I obtained my Ph.D. in Control Theory co-directed by Christophe Prieur and Gildas Besançon. I have been a doctoral researcher at the Control Systems department (GIPSA-lab) of Université Grenoble Alpes (Grenoble INP), France since Oct 2017. My thesis was entitled "High-gain observer design for systems of PDEs", with Ph.D. committee: Jean-Michel Coron (President), Vincent Andrieu and Fabian Wirth (reviewers), Federico Bribiesca Argomedo and Iasson Karafyllis (examiners), report of the jury: here.
Nominated for the Award of the best thesis in France in the area of Systems and Control by the "GdR MACS" (CNRS, INS2I, INSIS) (the French Automatic Control community) and the "Section Automatique du Club EEA" (Researcher Club in Electronics, Electrotechnics, and Automatic Control).
Prior to these, I obtained an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics and a Diploma (M.Eng.) in Electrical & Computer Engineering, both from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece.
