Practical Information

We strongly recommend that you make your arrangements for travel and lodging well in advance of the conference, as Barcelona is a very popular tourist and business destination.

By train (Terminal 2):

  • Line R2 to Estació de Sants, Passeig de Gràcia or El Clot. (***El Clot Station is just 10 minutes away on foot from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.)
  • Frequency: every 30 min, from 06:08 to 23:38.
  • Price: 4,20€ single ticket or 1,14€ if you hold a T-Casual card (11,35€), which is valid for 10 journeys (including bus, tram and metro).

Barcelona is also relatively close to two other airports that are served by low-cost airlines, especially during the summer months. The airport in Girona (abbreviation: GRO) is approximately 1 ½ hours north of Barcelona. There is regularly scheduled bus service between Barcelona and the Girona airport. The airport in Reus (abbreviation: REU) is approximately 1 ¼ hours south of Barcelona.
