ACADEMICS
Biblical Studies: Here at C.C.A.A., we strive to make the Bible applicable to life. We connect dots by aligning Math, Science, History, Civics, Literacy, and the like to the mind of God and his will for our lives. Our students have grown to love God and his Word and we thank God for that.
We incorporate the cartoon video series: Superbook.
Math: We aid in the understanding of more complex operations and 21st-century real-life skills and how Math intersects all facets of those operations. We make Math applicable to daily life as well and answer a question commonly asked by students: "why do I need to know this stuff?"
Science: We start at the known beginning of creation and build from there studying the structure and behavior of creation through observation and experiment from a biblical worldview. Our K-1 students (for example) learn about the human body by dissecting hearts, kidneys, and the like. Most think dissecting is both gross and exciting!
History/Civics: American and World History are appreciated here! We will introduce students to the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and all things History.
Literacy: Minnesota literacy standards require explicit, skill-based instruction for reading, speaking, and writing in all subject areas. In light of that, C.C.A.A. supports a culture of literacy by incorporating it into our daily program. Students choose a book of the week to read in class daily. They will write book reports and read the reports to the class ( with assistance if needed.) We to help schools cultivate a reading culture that encourages students to become lifetime learners
Art: Held on Friday for Friday Fun Day. We love all things Art!
Spanish: Held on Friday for Friday Fun Day!
Financial Literacy: Held on Friday for Friday Fun Day! Starting at Kinder we teach six biblical financial principles and six financial management principles in a way children can understand which culminates in the children developing a mock business and selling their products, goods, or services for a final group project!
We will incorporate Warren Buffet's cartoon video series: Secret Millionaires Club
** We incorporate wiggle time in our program which means your students can socialize between classes for ten minutes without being reprimanded by staff. In addition, for those who truly need it, we allow students to take a twenty-minute nap twice a week as long as they make up the time on Fridays. Hey, we all need the freedom to socialize and take a nap from time to time.**
Students bring lunches (2021-22 only)
