Conscientious objection is often discussed in relation to WWI, but in fact there were far more conscientious objectors (or COs) in WWII. Drawing on personal accounts and debates from the time, as well as a new database of the 60,000+ COs, this lesson enables students to critically engage with the history and moral choices of 1940s Britain.
