These are several shots I was solely responsible for, first replacing the backgrounds and tracking the shots using Syntheyes, then creating cloth simulations in Houdini and compositing them into the final shot as seemlessly as possible in Nuke.
To start, a majority of shots required background replacements, which were accomplished through several different ways. Mostly using roto's to copy other pieces of the shot and move them to cover the now empty space.
Then bringing the raw shot into Syntheyes for tracking, most of which ended up being manual tracking, since the auto ran into several issues trying to track grass.
Exporting the track into Houdini, where I had created 2 rows of cloth sheets flowing with wind. Then I line up the camera to where it works best, and render out the cloth sim layer.
Moving back into Nuke, I create specific masks to lower highlights on the cloth, blur the cloth, then create masks to specifically affect only the cloth or it's shadows, to better match the real life sheets.
Then using CorridorKey, I create a very quick and clean alpha layer of the raw footage containing only the actress, and copy it to the raw footage, then finally merge it all together.
