Advertising

As part of my class's Enterprise project the year prior to running my own stall at the local market, we had the opportunity to showcase and sell our work in a locally owned art shop for a couple of days. Our market theme was Vaudeville and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to attempt at making references to our town and some of our key landmarks (Blackpool Tower/ Circus) as I was responsible for the main artwork for the event. I wanted a really striking character to feature in the centre of the piece and to this day, this is on of my favourite full body designs.  

This editorial piece that I made alongside an article about indie musician, James Marriott, was selected out of every other student's work to be used as the example graphic for the future course's advertisement. I was requested to submit a version of the illustration without it's text or background - shortly after, I saw these set up around campus in preparation for an open event. I was so proud of myself in that moment to have my own work be seen as exemplary enough to be what the tutors wanted to showcase what can be achieved in this course.
