Role: Producer
This was my first official production with CU Denver. As a producer, I managed finances, proposed/enforced our COVID-19 protocols, and worked as a gaffer on-set (I also edited the first iteration of the film). This film ended up being one of three finalists in the "best Production I film" category at the end-of-year awards banquet and is set to be entered in multiple film festivals this summer.
Role: Director, Chief Editor, Social Media Manager
This was my first college film that I directed, and I had an absolute blast. Between learning more about a subject I already had a passion for, sharing that passion with new friends, and getting to express that passion creatively, I couldn't imagine a better documentary to be my starting point.
Role: Director of Photography
I never thought that my first job behind the camera would be such an engaging experience. Both the director, Braden Cloutier, and I had to work together to create a cohesive conglomerate of whip pans, crash zooms, and camera angles that went from the floor to the ceiling (in one case, we did both in one shot!).Â
Role: Main Actor, Sound Designer
This was a particularly unique project, as I knew it would involve lots of acting through facial expression and reliance on a soundscape, and as both the actor and sound designer, I had to approach it with both my role and the edit in-mind.
Role: Creator
Now this was the opportunity of a lifetime; creating a short film about my favorite NASCAR team making groundbreaking strides in technology for mobility impairment. Beyond the learning opportunities, this experience was incredibly emotional and inspiring, and I'm so thankful to the folks at Pikes Peak International Raceway for allowing me to be a part of it!
Role: Sound Recordist/Location Manager
As the boom operator/sound recordist on this film, let me tell you: I will never forget the batteries again. This film gave me the chance to work with the equipment whilst also managing the set/craft services.
Role: Producer
I did a little bit of everything for this film: producing, gripping, acting, and a little bit of post-production as well. Between the digital graphics, high concept gags, intricate set/production design, and the amazing original score, this was easily the most ambitious project I've worked on so far...
Role: Producer
Coming off the high of shooting films from an airborne Cessna and a NASCAR stock car, I figured that booking an abandoned watchtower should be a piece of cake, but alas: fate (as well as mother nature) had other plans. While this film produced some of my greatest challenges as a college filmmaker, it also gave me many memories I'll cherish forever.
