“The relation between what we see and what we know is never settled. Each evening we see the sun set. We know that the earth is turning away from it. Yet the knowledge, the explanation, never quite fits the sight.” ― John Berger

My research interests have evolved from studying attention processes, specifically vigilance, during my predoctoral work at the University of Granada, to investigating predictive processes in visual perception during my postdoctoral research at the University of Trento (Italy). Along the way, I have accumulated experience in EEG and non-invasive brain stimulation. What I find most compelling about neuroscience is the constant balance between discovery and uncertainty; I’m equal parts excited and intimidated by all that is still to be learned.
My fascination with perception as a constructive process extends beyond the lab, as I enjoy making sense of the world through drawing/painting. When not doomscrolling, you can find me outdoors (hiking, biking, running), or nurturing my recently rediscovered passion for writing.
