Kickstarting at SEPEX 2026

We kicked off the new academic year by attending the XV Conference of the Spanish Society for Experimental Psychology (SEPEX) and the II Joint Meeting of SEPEX and the Belgian Psychological Association (BAPS). Miriam Tortajada organized a successful symposium, which was an inspiring experience for the team. In this symposium, called “The mismatch across representational levels”, we dug into how a mismatch at different levels (atypicality, physical features, response alternatives, or semantic incongruency) affected mental representations, and how this, in turn, influenced the ease with which information was processed or actually remembered.

Through our group's talks and poster presentations, we returned with fresh ideas and renewed motivation to drive our projects forward!

We at CAOs 2026!

Last week, Linda & Laura participated at CAOs Workshop in Rovereto (Italy), where we presented the THINGS in PLACES database and initial behavioral results for the project on How goals emphasize visual features. 

We especially enjoyed receiving feedback from experienced researchers in artificial neural networks for the unusual CNN architecture we plan to use to generate feature-relevance profiles. 

Overall, it was a great experience connecting with other scientists in the field and gaining fruitful ideas!
