The Connections Team at Prospect Valley was developed to respond to issues of diversity, equity and inclusion and create a stronger community where all are welcome. The Connections Team is a sub-group of the Accountability Committee at Prospect Valley.
Timeline
May 2023 – first group gathering to come together around issues of equity, justice, diversity and inclusion
Four summer meetings
Final Summer meeting in August 2023 facilitated group work around mission and vision. Group chose name as The Connections Team.
An online survey of the early members was conducted to help more clearly define the team’s vision.
Mission
From the Jefferson County School District Accountability Guide:
Assist the district in implementing at the school level the district’s parent/guardian engagement policy.
Assist school personnel to increase the level of parent/guardian engagement in the school, especially the engagement from diverse populations.
Vision
“Creating a school community where all families and students belong.”
