Project “Connecting Unisannio and MIT”
On November 3rd 2017 a Letter of Intent has been signed between our University and the MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) in the person of Dr. Serenella Sferza, International Agreements Administrator and MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives) - Italy Program Co-Director.
The Letter of Intent is born within the activities promoted by the MIT Alumni Association, of which Prof. Silvia Liberata Ullo is a member since she graduated from MIT pursuing a Master of Science in Management, a two-year master's degree. Silvia Liberata Ullo is the Coordinator of the project.
The Student/Alumni Externship Program, created by the MIT Alumni Association, connects current students at MIT with Alumni in their workplaces worldwide during MIT's Independent Activities Period (IAP) in January. These are short-term opportunities in a variety of fields that offer long-term benefits to the hosting Institutions.

In particular, since 2018, by involving the MIT students, UNISANNIO has started meetings with the high schools of Benevento, and in 2019 it was presented and carried on the project:
"Understanding our Planet and defending it from climatic upheavals", which allowed the introduction of the young Greta Thunberg, well before she became famous. The project carried on in January 2019 was supervised by UNISANNIO and high school teachers, with the MIT students involved. About 300 fourth-year high school students have been involved. The inspiration for the project topic and the brainstorming model came from the MIT Terrascope project.
