A grant proposal was submitted on April 2, 2019 to the Foundation for West Hartford Public Schools to procure $2500 in funding to begin the Connecticut STEAM Model Railroad Club at the two elementary schools in which I work. On May 21, 2019, we received an email informing us that the name of the school was accidentally included in the grant application. The grant proposals are read on a blind basis and including the school name violates those rules. Our grant proposal was unable to be considered but we were encouraged to fix the error and resubmit the grant application next year by April 7, 2020.
On January 22, 2020, our teacher acquired an N-Scale layout from Hector of Manchester, CT. This layout is modeled after the Atlas N-109: Gulf Summit Lines & Susquehanna Valley Rail Yard. There are a few small differences from the original plans. Hector replaced the Atlas Snap-Track with Kato Unitrack and eliminated the siding #22 which is hidden under the mountain and removed the #12 & 13 switches.
