What is different here?
We believe following Jesus means more than attending church.
Church is not primarily a building, a program, or an event—it is a community of people being transformed by Jesus and learning to follow Him together.
Our desire is to increasingly know Christ, walk in the Spirit, love one another well, and help others grow in faith.
You do not need to have everything figured out.
Come as you are. Grow with us.
No one can deny our world is increasingly divided and polarized. People, even within the church, seem confused about truth, identity, morality, politics, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus. There is so much anger and a feeling that to be right we have to alienate certain people. But those people, whoever they are, are people Jesus died to save. He loves them. If we alienate them, the divide just gets bigger, the gap wider. We are called to be His ambassadors.
So Connect Church on Main is committed to responding differently. We want to both build bridges while maintaining clear boundaries. It feels more balanced and biblical than choosing one or the other.
We believe Christians are called to stand firmly in God's truth while treating every person with humility, dignity, compassion, and love.
Our values, morals, and hope are not formed by opinion polls, cultural trends, or political parties. We do participate in public life and vote our convictions, but we do not confuse partisan politics with the Kingdom of God.
Jesus welcomed sinners while confronting their sin.
He extended mercy within unflinching truth.
He offered belonging but it demands repentance.
We cannot turn to Him, without turning away from everything else.
So we are neither permissive nor harsh.
We are neither captive to culture nor angry at culture.
We intend to follow Jesus. All the way.
We believe every person bears God's image and is loved by God and, if they turn to Him, will find His arms open to them. We reject hatred, contempt, racism, cruelty, mockery, and the trashing of any person or group. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Those are the values we seek to cultivate and see growing in our hearts by the Spirit.
Jesus lovingly and firmly confronts us, calls us to repentance, and invites us into transformed living.
Wherever you are.
Whatever your history.
Whatever questions you carry.
You are welcome here.
Come honestly.
Come expectantly.
Come willing to encounter Christ and allow Him to shape every area of life.
We don't recruit people to our side. We are on Jesus' side.
That is our direction of progress. None of us have arrived.
Together, by God's grace and Spirit, we are leaving the old life behind and learning to live the life Jesus offers.
