App Name: Connect by MSO
Connect by MSO is a customer service and business-connect application operated as part of the MyShopOnn Business Ecosystem.
The application is designed to connect customers with businesses that manage their business activities through MyShopOnn. Depending on the business and services available, users may be able to view business-related information and access services such as ledger information, invoices, outstanding or due amounts, targets, business updates, hotel searches and bookings, hotel-related information, and other customer services provided by businesses using MyShopOnn.
For businesses such as hotels that manage bookings, accounting, room information, and other business operations through MyShopOnn, Connect by MSO may allow their customers to access relevant services and information through their customer account.
This Privacy Policy explains how Connect by MSO collects, uses, stores, processes, and protects information when users use the application.
By using Connect by MSO, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Depending on how you use Connect by MSO, we may collect and process the following categories of information:
User profile information
Name and other information associated with the user's customer account
Login and authentication information
Information required to identify and connect the customer with a MyShopOnn-managed business
User-provided information required to use the application's services
Connect by MSO may retrieve business-related information from MyShopOnn servers based on the user's authenticated customer account and relationship with a connected business.
Depending on the services provided by the connected business, this may include:
Ledger information
Invoice information
Outstanding or due amounts
Payment-related information
Customer transaction information
Business targets or customer-related targets
Booking information
Hotel booking details
Hotel room or property information
Business-related updates and notifications
Other information made available to the customer by the connected business through MyShopOnn
This information is retrieved from MyShopOnn systems and is displayed to the authenticated customer according to their account, access permissions, and relationship with the relevant business.
When the user chooses to use location-based hotel services, Connect by MSO may access device location to:
Search for nearby hotels
Display hotels based on the user's current location
Improve location-based hotel search results
Provide location-based hotel recommendations
Support hotel discovery and booking features
Location access is optional. Users may continue to use Connect by MSO without granting location permission, although location-based hotel features may not be available.
Connect by MSO may allow the user to select or capture a personal profile image.
The application may access the device camera or photos/media only when the user chooses to set or update their own profile image.
The Photos and Media permission is not used to upload, update, or manage hotel photographs, hotel room photographs, or hotel property photographs.
When creating an invoice, Connect by MSO may allow users to optionally attach an image of a paper bill, receipt, invoice, or other relevant supporting document to the invoice for record-keeping and reference purposes.
Users may attach a bill or supporting document image through either of the following methods:
Capture Using Camera: Users may use the device camera to capture a new image of a paper bill, receipt, invoice, or other relevant document and attach the captured image to the invoice.
Select From Device Gallery: Users may select an existing bill, receipt, invoice, or other relevant document image from their device's gallery or available photos/media and attach it to the invoice.
The camera or Photos and Media access is used only when the user explicitly chooses to capture or select an image for attachment to an invoice.
The images are provided by the user and are used to support the relevant invoice and for record-keeping or reference purposes. This invoice and bill image attachment feature is completely optional and is not required for general use of Connect by MSO.
Users may create and use invoices without attaching a bill or supporting document image.
If the user chooses to use the optional contact-based hotel or business matching feature, Connect by MSO may request access to the contacts available on the user's device.
When the user grants Contacts permission and initiates this feature, the contact information available on the device may be securely transmitted to authorized Connect by MSO/MyShopOnn servers for the limited purpose of identifying hotels or businesses associated with MyShopOnn that match the user's contacts.
The transmitted contact information is processed solely to perform the requested contact-based matching and to provide the user with a list of matching hotels or businesses within the application.
Contact-based matching is completely optional. Users can continue to use Connect by MSO and access other application features without granting Contacts permission.
Contact information obtained through this feature is not used for advertising, marketing, promotional communications, user profiling, or other unrelated purposes. Contact information transmitted for matching is not permanently retained on Connect by MSO/MyShopOnn servers after the matching process is completed, subject to any temporary technical processing required to complete the requested operation or any retention required by applicable law.
For additional details about how Contacts permission is used, including the contact-matching process and data handling, please refer to Section 3.5 – Contacts Permission.
The application may process limited device and usage information required for:
Application functionality
Authentication
Troubleshooting
Security
Error detection
Performance monitoring
Improving application reliability and user experience
The application collects only information reasonably necessary to provide its intended services.
Connect by MSO may process device or application identifiers, including a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token or Firebase-related installation identifier, where applicable, to deliver push notifications and service updates to the user's device.
These notifications may include invoice updates, receipt updates, payment-related updates, business updates, booking-related updates, account notifications, and other service-related notifications associated with the user's account or connected business.
Such identifiers are used for application functionality and service-related communications and are not used for advertising or marketing purposes.
Connect by MSO may request camera access for the following purposes:
Profile Image: Users may use the camera to capture or update their own profile image. Users may also choose an existing image from their device, where supported.
QR Code Scanning: Users may use the camera to scan QR codes provided by authorised stores. Scanning an authorised store's QR code allows users to visit the corresponding store within the application, browse the store's available products, and place orders where ordering is supported.
Invoice Bill Attachment: When creating an invoice, users may optionally use the camera to capture an image of a paper bill or other relevant invoice document and attach that image to the invoice for record-keeping and reference purposes. This camera functionality is optional, and users may choose not to capture or attach a bill image.
The camera is accessed only when the user explicitly chooses to capture or update their profile image, scan a QR code, or capture a paper bill/document for attachment to an invoice. The application does not continuously access, monitor, or record the camera in the background.
Camera permission is optional. If the user does not grant camera access, they can continue using other features of the application that do not require camera functionality. Users may also use available alternative methods, such as selecting an existing image from their device, where supported.
Connect by MSO may access device location to:
Search for nearby hotels
Display hotels based on the user's current location
Improve hotel search results
Provide location-based hotel recommendations
Support hotel discovery and booking features
Location permission is optional.
Users can use Connect by MSO without granting location access. However, features that specifically require the user's location, such as nearby hotel search, may not be available without this permission.
Location information is used for the requested application functionality and is not publicly displayed or shared with other users by Connect by MSO.
Users may grant or revoke location permission at any time through their device settings.
Connect by MSO may request access to photos or media on the user's device for user-initiated image selection and attachment features. Photos and media access is optional and is requested only when the user chooses to use a feature that requires selecting an existing image from the device.
The permission may be used for the following purposes:
Profile Image: Users may select an existing image from their device's gallery or photos/media to set, replace, or update their own profile image.
Invoice and Bill Images: When creating an invoice, users may select an existing image of a paper bill, receipt, invoice, or other relevant supporting document from their device's gallery or photos/media and attach it to the invoice for record-keeping and reference purposes.
Photos or media are accessed only when the user explicitly chooses to select an image for one of these supported purposes. Connect by MSO does not continuously access, monitor, or scan the user's photos or media in the background.
Connect by MSO does not use Photos and Media permission to:
Upload or update hotel photographs
Upload or update hotel room photographs
Upload or update hotel property photographs
Access the user's photos or media for advertising or marketing purposes
Scan or collect unrelated photos or media from the user's device
Hotel photographs, hotel room images, and hotel property images displayed within Connect by MSO may be obtained from MyShopOnn servers, authorized systems, or the relevant connected business as part of hotel discovery and booking services. Such hotel images are not uploaded or managed by the user through the Photos and Media permission.
Photos and Media permission is completely optional. Users can continue to use Connect by MSO without granting this permission, although features that require selecting an existing image from the device, such as selecting a profile image or attaching an existing bill image to an invoice, may not be available.
Where supported, users may use the device camera instead to capture a new image for supported features such as profile images or invoice/bill attachments.
Internet access is required for the core functionality of Connect by MSO, including:
User login and authentication
Secure communication with MyShopOnn servers
Retrieving customer and business information
Retrieving ledger information
Retrieving invoices and due information
Retrieving targets and business updates
Hotel search
Hotel information and room information
Hotel booking services
Uploading or updating the user's profile image
Contact-based hotel or business matching, when the user has enabled the Contacts feature
Downloading hotel and business information
Synchronizing application data
Receiving updated information
Secure communication with application servers
Connect by MSO communicates with its servers using secure network connections wherever applicable.
3.5 Notifications Permission
Connect by MSO may request permission to send notifications to the user's device.
Notifications may be used to provide timely information related to the user's account and services, including:
New or updated invoices
Receipt and payment-related updates
Outstanding or due amount updates
Business-related updates
Booking-related updates
Account and service notifications
Other important updates related to services requested by the user
Notification permission is optional. Users may grant or deny notification permission through the application or their device settings. If notification permission is denied, the user may continue to use Connect by MSO, but may not receive push notifications or real-time alerts.
Connect by MSO does not use notification permission to access the user's personal files, photos, contacts, camera, microphone, or other unrelated device data.
Connect by MSO may establish a secure real-time connection between the application and authorized application/MyShopOnn servers to receive timely updates while the application is in use or when the applicable real-time service is active.
Real-time updates may include invoice updates, receipt updates, payment-related information, business updates, booking-related information, account updates, and other information relevant to the user's authorized account and services.
Real-time communication is used to provide requested application functionality and timely service updates. The application does not use the real-time connection to access unrelated device data.
Connect by MSO may request access to the user's device contacts to provide an optional contact-based hotel and business matching feature. Contacts permission is not required for general use of the application.
When a user chooses to use the contact-based hotel or business matching feature, the application will request the user's permission to access the contacts available on the device. The contact information available on the device may include information such as contact names, phone numbers, and other contact details made available by the device's Contacts system.
If the user grants permission and initiates the contact-based matching feature, the available contacts may be transmitted to authorized Connect by MSO/MyShopOnn servers for the limited purpose of identifying hotels or businesses associated with MyShopOnn that match the user's contacts.
The contact-matching process works as follows:
User Consent: The application requests Contacts permission before accessing the user's contacts. Contacts are accessed only after the user grants the required permission and chooses to use the contact-based hotel or business matching feature.
Contact Transmission: When the feature is initiated, the contact information available on the user's device may be transmitted to authorized Connect by MSO/MyShopOnn servers for the matching process.
Matching: The transmitted contact information is processed to identify whether any contacts correspond to hotels or businesses associated with MyShopOnn.
Matched Results: After the matching process, Connect by MSO provides the user with a list of matching hotels or businesses identified through the contact-matching process.
Limited Use: Contacts accessed through this feature are used solely for contact-based hotel and business matching. They are not used for advertising, marketing, promotional communications, user profiling, unrelated analytics, or any other unrelated purpose.
No Permanent Retention: Contact information transmitted for the matching process is not permanently stored or retained on Connect by MSO/MyShopOnn servers after the matching process is completed. Any temporary processing copies, if technically required to complete the matching operation, are used only for that purpose and are deleted or otherwise disposed of after the processing is completed, subject to any retention required by applicable law.
No Sale or Marketing Use: Contact information obtained through this permission is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for advertising, marketing, or other unrelated purposes.
Optional Feature: The contact-based matching feature is completely optional. Users can continue to use Connect by MSO and access other available application features without granting Contacts permission.
Revoking Permission: Users may grant or revoke Contacts permission at any time through their device settings. If Contacts permission is revoked, contact-based hotel and business matching may no longer be available unless the required permission is granted again.
The application does not require Contacts permission for general application usage. If the user does not grant Contacts permission or does not initiate the contact-based matching feature, Connect by MSO will not access the user's contacts for this functionality.
Connect by MSO allows users to set and update their own profile image and, where supported, attach bill or supporting document images to invoices.
The application may allow the user to:
Capture a profile image using the device camera
Select an existing profile image from the device's gallery, photos, or media
Upload the selected profile image to the user's account
Replace or update the existing profile image
All profile-image operations require an explicit action by the user.
When creating an invoice, Connect by MSO may allow users to attach an image of a paper bill, receipt, invoice, or other relevant supporting document to the invoice.
Users may:
Capture a new bill or supporting document image using the device camera
Select an existing bill or supporting document image from the device's gallery, photos, or media
Attach the selected or captured image to the relevant invoice for record-keeping and reference purposes
The user must explicitly choose to capture or select an image before the application accesses the camera or the relevant photos/media for these purposes. The application does not continuously access, monitor, or scan the user's camera, photos, or media in the background.
The invoice and bill image attachment feature is completely optional. Users may create and use invoices without attaching a bill or supporting document image.
The application does not use the user's Camera or Photos and Media permission to upload or update:
Hotel photographs
Hotel room photographs
Hotel property photographs
Hotel photographs, room images, and property information displayed within Connect by MSO may be obtained from MyShopOnn servers, authorized systems, or the relevant connected business as part of hotel discovery and booking services. Such hotel images are not uploaded or managed by the user through the Camera or Photos and Media permissions.
The user's profile image may be transmitted to authorized MyShopOnn/application servers when necessary to store, process, and display the profile image associated with the user's account.
Images attached to invoices may also be transmitted to authorized application/MyShopOnn servers when necessary to store and display the supporting document associated with the relevant invoice, subject to the application's applicable data-retention and business-record requirements.
Information processed by Connect by MSO may be used to:
Authenticate users
Maintain customer accounts
Connect customers with MyShopOnn-managed businesses
Display relevant business information
Provide customer service functionality
Display ledger and transaction information
Display invoices and outstanding dues
Display targets and business-related updates
Provide hotel search and discovery services
Provide hotel booking functionality
Display hotel rooms and property information
Process profile photographs and supported images
Communicate with connected businesses
Maintain and improve application functionality
Troubleshoot technical problems
Maintain application security
Synchronize information with MyShopOnn servers
Provide requested services and features
Deliver push notifications and service-related alerts
Deliver timely invoice, receipt, payment, business, booking, and account updates
Provide real-time application updates through authorized real-time communication services
Maintain and manage notification delivery and application communication
We do not use information for purposes unrelated to the application's intended business-connect and customer-service functionality unless permitted or required by applicable law.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share user information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Information may be processed or shared with:
MyShopOnn servers and authorized systems
Connected businesses using MyShopOnn
Authorized cloud infrastructure providers
Authentication and technical service providers
Service providers required to operate, maintain, secure, or troubleshoot the application
Hotel or booking service systems where necessary to provide a requested booking or hotel-related service
Firebase/Google services used for push notification delivery and related application messaging functionality, where applicable
Such processing is limited to what is reasonably necessary to provide the requested application services, operate the application, maintain infrastructure, or comply with applicable legal requirements.
Any sharing of information through external applications, such as messaging or email applications, is initiated by the user.
We do not sell user data to advertisers.
Reasonable technical and organizational security measures are implemented to protect user information against unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.
These measures may include appropriate authentication, access controls, secure server infrastructure, and secure network communication where applicable.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Therefore, while we take reasonable measures to protect information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Connect by MSO is not intended for children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the application.
If we become aware that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete or remove such information as required by applicable law.
Users may have the ability to:
Grant or revoke application permissions through device settings
Update their profile information
Update or remove their profile photograph
Control access to device location
Control camera access
Control photos and media access
Control contacts access
Remove locally stored files from their device
Delete uploaded images where the relevant feature permits deletion
Log out of their account
Request appropriate account or data-related assistance
Uninstall the application at any time
Some information associated with business transactions, invoices, accounting records, bookings, or legal obligations may need to be retained by the relevant business or service provider for legitimate business or legal purposes.
User information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
Provide the application's services
Maintain customer accounts
Provide business and customer-service functionality
Process bookings and related services
Maintain business transaction records where applicable
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
Resolve disputes
Prevent fraud or misuse
Enforce applicable agreements
Device or application identifiers used for push notification delivery, including FCM registration tokens where applicable, may be retained for as long as necessary to provide notification and communication functionality. Such identifiers may be updated, replaced, or removed when they are no longer required, when the user logs out or their account is deleted, or when otherwise necessary for application operation and security.
Information that is no longer required may be securely deleted, anonymized, or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable legal and business requirements.
Business information maintained by a business through MyShopOnn may be subject to that business's own record-retention requirements.
Connect by MSO may allow users to share hotel or business information through third-party applications, such as messaging or email applications.
When a user chooses to share information using another application, that information may be processed according to the privacy policy and practices of the receiving application.
Connect by MSO is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party applications that the user chooses to use.
Users are encouraged to review the privacy policies of third-party services before sharing information through them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:
Application functionality
Business services
Data processing practices
Legal or regulatory requirements
Security practices
Any changes will become effective upon publication within the application or through an updated effective date.
