This is an art walk full of surprises. When you turn a corner and encounter Confucius, there’s no need to sit up straight or worry about being quizzed on the Analects. This exhibition, created by the students of the Taipei City Yangming Home for the Disabled Art Club, frees Confucius and the Six Arts (ritual, music, archery, charioteering, calligraphy, and mathematics) from their classical confines, offering a fresh reinterpretation through the brushstrokes and creativity of individuals with disabilities. You’ll discover that the Six Arts can be poetic, playful, and even a bit unconventional.
Every corner holds endless possibilities; every perspective deserves to be seen. When every visitor strolls through the exhibition, it feels like unexpectedly encountering Confucius at a turning point in life. Here, the Six Arts break free from traditional frameworks, with each creation serving as a response to encountering Confucius, brimming with a rich sense of humor and vitality.
