Statement of Candidacy
FASFAA membership,
Thank you for considering my candidacy for the position of President-Elect of FASFAA for 2025-2026. I appreciate the support and encouragement of my colleagues in Financial Aid and FASFAA. As many of you, I stumbled into financial aid almost 20 years ago, and never left. I came to Florida in 2011 and joined the financial aid office at State College of Florida. I served in many roles within several financial aid offices. I have had many opportunities to learn and grow, and I am excited for the opportunity to grow in a new way.
I had the opportunity to participate in my first FASFAA conference in St. Petersburg many years ago. It was amazing to be with so many colleagues who shared the same passion: student success. In 2019, I joined my first FASFAA committee, the Clock Hour Committee. While serving on this committee, I was encouraged to participate in the fiscal concerns committee and strategic planning. I served as FASFAA Treasurer-Elect and Treasurer from 2022-2024. Since leaving the board I have continued to serve on the fiscal concerns committee and participate in FASFAA workshops.
Financial aid has continued to change and grow over time. In the last five years alone, we have navigated a pandemic, adapted to a new FAFSA, tried to figure out new calculations, and we are currently witnessing significant changes in the structure of higher education administration. There is no better time than now to create a strong community.
I believe that every member valuable experience to share with their colleagues. I encourage all members to connect with someone new and seek opportunities to build a supportive FASFAA community.
Thank you for your consideration and support

The support of the colleagues I've met and the work I have been able to contribute to have been instrumental in my success. It is for this reason that I am eager to further my commitment to FASFAA, building on the strong foundation that has given me so much.
At the heart of FASFAA’s success are its members, and I am deeply committed to ensuring that your voices are heard and that your needs are met. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving FASFAA in a variety of roles, including Region V Representative, Presenter, Pre-Conference Coordinator, Vice-President of Training, and as a member of numerous committees. These experiences have given me an in-depth understanding of our association and a strong sense of the priorities and aspirations of our members.

Statement of Candidacy
It is an honor to be considered for the position of Secretary for the Florida Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (FASFAA). My journey in financial aid began like many others—as a student worker. Over the past 10½ years, I have dedicated my career to financial aid administration, gaining experience in both public and private university settings.
My full-time career started in June 2013 as a Financial Aid Assistant at the University of South Florida (USF). In January 2014, I was promoted to Financial Aid Advisor, and a year later, I advanced to Team Manager, specializing in state grants. In this role, I trained staff on state grant processes and best practices, both one-on-one and in office-wide sessions. Over my 8½ years in this position, I developed expertise in financial aid regulations and best practices. While state grants were my primary focus, I maintained a comprehensive understanding of all financial aid processes, overseeing a team of advisors and assistants. I became known for my strong organizational skills, training abilities, and in-depth knowledge of financial aid.
In October 2023, I transitioned to the private university sector, joining The University of Tampa as an Associate Director of Financial Aid. This role has broadened my perspective on the differences between public and private institutions, particularly in areas such as awarding, funding, and institutional policies. These experiences have further enhanced my ability to assist students, families, and colleagues effectively.
Although I have not yet served on the FASFAA Board or a committee, I believe I am well-suited for the role of Secretary. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science, providing me with a strong foundation in writing, research, and record-keeping. I understand that the Secretary’s primary responsibility is to maintain meticulous non-financial records in accordance with FASFAA’s policies and procedures, as well as to communicate with members as directed by the bylaws and President. My dedication, organizational skills, and writing expertise will allow me to serve FASFAA effectively in this capacity.
I would be honored to contribute to this incredible organization and support its members. I look forward to the opportunity to collaborate with fellow financial aid professionals, further develop my skills, and make a meaningful impact on the FASFAA community. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Beata Bregman, Florida Atlantic University
Statement of Candidacy
My name is Beata Bregman, and I am writing to express my interest in being considered for the position of Region V Representative. I believe that my extensive experience and qualifications align well with the responsibilities and objectives of this role.
To provide some background, I have been involved in Financial Aid since my freshman year of college. I began as a work-study student assisting the Pell Grant coordinator, a position I held throughout my undergraduate years. Growing up in Poland, I viewed higher education as a distant reality, despite my passion for learning. Upon arriving in the United States, my curiosity for knowledge flourished. Although history has always been my primary interest, I quickly developed a deep appreciation for higher education, and navigating the financial aid process became a new passion. My experiences in Financial Aid not only gave me a sense of purpose but also inspired me to help others overcome the financial barriers they may face in pursuing their academic goals.
After graduating, I continued my career in Financial Aid, beginning as a counselor where I assisted families with FAFSA completion, educated them on available financing options, and helped package their aid. I then transitioned to the role of Financial Aid Auditor, where I focused on reviewing financial aid files for accuracy and compliance. In an effort to broaden my understanding of the student experience, I took on an Assistant Registrar role, which gave me valuable insight into student planning and future career development. However, my passion for financial aid ultimately led me back to this field.
For the past thirteen years, I have focused primarily on the operational side of Financial Aid. In my current role, I oversee Return to Title IV processes, manage state and federal reconciliations, conduct drawdowns, and ensure compliance with Cash Management regulations. While my role is primarily behind the scenes, I remain actively involved in student initiatives. I volunteer at campus events to assist current students with their financial aid journey and participate in recruitment events such as Choose FAU, where I engage with prospective students and families to highlight the importance of higher education and the value of pursuing their dreams.
I firmly believe that education is key to personal empowerment and growth. It equips individuals to become active, productive members of society and drives positive change. I am a strong advocate for student success and am committed to ensuring all students have access to affordable higher education. It would be a privilege to serve as the Region V Representative and contribute to supporting students, institutions, and communities in Florida by promoting the values and benefits of post-secondary education.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of the FASFAA's mission.
