Sofia Lai Amândio is a Sociologist (PhD) and Researcher at the Centro de Investigação e Estudos de Sociologia (CIES-IUL). Through the course of her PhD Thesis – titled “Jovens Atores da Gestão. Origens de Classe, Percursos Profissionais e Competências", had the opportunity to collaborate directly with the Centre Max Weber/CNRS and to publish on French Sociology. Was also coordinator of the experimental project "A Diversidade do Mundo" (CIES-IUL/IS-UP), that gathers 17 biographical narratives published in the collective book “A Vida entre Nós. Sociologia em Carne Viva”. Sofia Lai Amândio is also scientific consultant at Associação Portuguesa para a Diversidade e Inclusão (APPDI); currently develops research on the cohesion policy and the European funds in Portugal.
