La Traviata
Conducting Workshop
28 - 29 November 2020, Maastricht
We live in a historical moment where it is very difficult to bring together a large group of people required to form an orchestra. How can a young orchestra conductor invest his time today and continue his training and experience in the field? Let's focus on the conductor-singer relationship, on the first fundamental rehearsal of a conductor in an opera production. We deepen the knowledge, the practice and the ideal balance to be achieved, working without orchestra, but with high-level singers and a specialised pianist, in order to create a professional environment suitable for the maximum understanding and development of the young opera conductor.
The workshop aims at an in-depth analysis of the opera La Traviata and is addressed to conductors who want to master and refine the main aspects of preparation and performing the opera, particularly focusing on the relation conductor-singers.
Therefore a minimum of two career professional singers will be guaranteed.
All under the professional counselling by Federico Santi, internationally renowned opera conductor.
Soprano Barbara Haveman (Teatro La Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, Covent Garden, Opéra de Paris..)
Tenor Eric Reddet
Baritone Aran Matsuda
Pianist Abigail Richards
