The Multiverse

Why believe in a Multiverse?

  1. We experience photons as points of light and yet they exhibit wave-like interference as though other potential paths of the photon are being taken.
  2. Experiments show this behavior scales to larger objects, with no end in sight.

Why not be skeptical of the Multiverse?

  1. Top arguments against invoke intuition regarding 'the number of universes' which is pointless if they are fungible.
  2. Collapse is a bad explanation. Not (just) because no one can say specifically at what scale it occurs or why but because it explains away exactly what makes the multiverse a good explanation for many other anthropic mysteries.
  3. Collapse basically concedes the premise but only for small scales.
  4. Measurement can be encoded as additional superpositions (a projector).
