How We Research
We compare products from their published specs and features; the verdicts below are our independent editorial opinions.
If you want a real upgrade in comfort, fit and noise isolation for Sony true wireless earbuds, choose COMPLY TrueGrip; if you need a cheap, universal fix that stops any earbud from falling out during workouts, choose YARNOW 10pcs.
• COMPLY TrueGrip — biggest strength: heat-activated memory foam that expands into your ear for a secure, personalized seal and genuinely better noise isolation.
• COMPLY TrueGrip — biggest trade-off: it's a purpose-built replacement tip for a specific list of Sony models, not a universal accessory, and foam wears over time.
• YARNOW 10pcs — biggest strength: ten soft rubber ear hooks with two inner clamp diameters, so they grip almost any earbud stem and stop drops during running and cycling.
• YARNOW 10pcs — biggest trade-off: they add bulk and a rubber-against-skin feel, and they don't improve sound or isolation at all — they only hold what you already own.
• Who COMPLY TrueGrip is for: Sony WF-1000XM-series, LinkBuds S, WF-C-series and similar owners who want the tip itself to do the work.
• Who YARNOW 10pcs is for: anyone with an earbud that keeps slipping, especially athletes who just need a mechanical safety net.
COMPLY TrueGrip is a replacement ear tip, not an add-on. It's built from Comply's new 3.0 memory foam formulation, and the whole design leans on one idea: the tip should adapt to your ear rather than your ear adapting to the tip. The foam is heat-activated, so it softens with body temperature, expands gently and forms a seal. That seal is what does the heavy lifting — a proper seal is the single biggest factor in how much external noise gets blocked and how much low-end you actually hear from your earbuds.
The fit list is specific and worth reading carefully, because this is where most buyers get it wrong. COMPLY lists compatibility with Sony WF-1000XM3 through XM6, LinkBuds S, WF-C500, WF-C700N, INZONE Buds, WF-SP800N, WF-XB700, WF-1000X and WF-SP700N. If your earbuds are on that list, you're the target buyer. The three-pair set covers small, medium and large, so you can find your size and keep spares. The kit also includes a cleaning tool, which matters more than it sounds — foam tips collect earwax and skin oils faster than silicone, and Comply's own care instructions say to clean gently with warm water and a soft cloth and to avoid alcohol-based cleaners and lotions because they degrade the material.
YARNOW 10pcs: Who It's For
YARNOW 10pcs takes the opposite approach. Instead of replacing anything, these are rubber ear hooks that clamp onto the stem of your existing earbuds and curl around the outside of your ear. You get ten of them, in black, each measuring roughly 2.48 x 1.22 x 0.16 inches. The clamp is the interesting part: half of them have a 6mm inner diameter for earbuds measuring 6–6.8mm, and the other half have a 7mm inner diameter for earbuds measuring 7–7.8mm. That two-size split is what makes them broadly compatible rather than locked to one brand.
The material is soft elastic rubber, and the design is rotation-and-stretch adjustable, so you can angle the hook to sit snugly behind your ear. The stated purpose is athletes — running, gym training, cycling — and that's exactly the right framing. A hook doesn't improve your sound. It doesn't block noise. What it does is act as a physical tether: if the bud works loose mid-stride, the hook keeps it hanging on your ear instead of bouncing down the road. For cycling in particular, where you can't safely stop and grope around for a fallen earbud, that's genuinely useful.
The trade-offs are real and worth naming. Rubber hooks add visible bulk to a pair of earbuds that were probably designed to sit flush. Some people find the constant contact against the ear cartilage irritating over long sessions, even with soft material. And the fit is mechanical, not acoustic — if your earbuds sound thin because they don't seal, these won't fix that. Note also that YARNOW lists no warranty, which tells you the manufacturer treats these as a low-cost consumable accessory. Who should buy them? Anyone whose earbuds keep popping out, anyone who wants a cheap spare-parts stash for multiple pairs, and any athlete who'd rather lose a hook than an earbud. Who should skip them? People who want a cleaner, lower-profile fit, and anyone expecting a sound or isolation improvement.
Side-by-Side: Which Should You Choose?
• Best for noise isolation → COMPLY TrueGrip. The heat-activated memory foam seal is the entire point of the design; YARNOW hooks do nothing for isolation.
• Best for running and cycling → YARNOW 10pcs. A drop-proof mechanical grip is exactly what a hook does well.
• Best for long listening sessions → COMPLY TrueGrip. Soft memory foam that conforms to your ear is a different experience than rigid rubber pressing on it.
• Best for Sony WF-1000XM / LinkBuds S / WF-C owners → COMPLY TrueGrip. The compatibility list is explicit, and the S/M/L set lets you dial in your size.
• Best for mixed or unknown earbuds → YARNOW 10pcs. The 6mm and 7mm clamps cover a wide range of stems, and you get ten so you can experiment.
• Best for spare parts and backups → YARNOW 10pcs. Ten pieces means you can keep a set in your bag, your desk and your gym kit.
• Best "buy it once" durability → YARNOW 10pcs. Rubber outlasts memory foam, which compresses and degrades with use.
• Best if you want the accessory to be invisible → COMPLY TrueGrip. They replace the stock tip rather than wrap around your ear.
In my opinion, COMPLY TrueGrip is the better purchase for most people reading this — but only if your earbuds are on the compatibility list. It's the option that changes how your earbuds feel, seal and sound, and that's a far more meaningful upgrade than holding a bad fit in place. That said, if you're a runner or cyclist whose earbuds are fine sounding but won't stay put, YARNOW 10pcs solves that specific problem cheaply and with ten chances to get the fit right. I'd buy COMPLY for the daily driver and YARNOW for the gym bag.
They solve different problems. COMPLY replaces the tip to improve seal, comfort and isolation. YARNOW hooks keep an existing earbud from falling out. If your ear tips are the weak link, COMPLY is the fix; if your fit while moving is the weak link, YARNOW is.
Measure your earbud stem diameter. The 6mm clamp fits 6–6.8mm stems and the 7mm clamp fits 7–7.8mm stems. If yours falls outside that range, they won't grip properly.
YARNOW's rubber hooks are the more durable design because they don't compress or absorb oils. COMPLY's memory foam is excellent but eventually loses its spring and needs replacing — clean it with warm water and a soft cloth, never alcohol-based cleaners.
COMPLY can, because a better seal means stronger bass and less outside noise. YARNOW hooks don't alter sound at all — they're a physical retention accessory. If price matters to you, check the current price on Amazon before deciding, since both come in at very different cost tiers.
