PRIVACY POLICY
1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Charlis Dev ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in connection with PDF Nova - Reader & Editor (the "App"), package com.pdf.nova.reader.editor. The App provides supported document reading and management, recent files and bookmarks, PDF editing, scanning-related image processing, conversion, compression, merging, splitting, password protection, authorized unlocking, and printing. Available features depend on the version and device you use. This policy does not replace a separate permission request or consent required for a particular activity.
2. Documents and Local Processing
The App accesses documents and images within the storage locations you authorize to list, search, read, organize, process, and save supported files. It uses local file information such as names, paths, types, sizes, thumbnails, and modification times for these functions. Document processing takes place on your device and does not upload document contents to our servers for cloud OCR, AI processing, or cloud storage. If you choose to share or print a file, that file is transferred to the recipient, app, printer, or service you select. Files you voluntarily attach to a support message are also provided by your choice.
3. Device, Usage, and Support Information
Local document processing does not mean the App collects no technical information. The App and its configured services process device and App attributes, such as model, manufacturer, Android and App versions, language, network information, IP address, and approximate region; advertising, installation, analytics, and push identifiers where available and permitted; installation source or referrer and campaign information; and App interactions, feature outcomes, permission choices, advertising activity, notification events, background activity events, and diagnostics. Crash reporting, where enabled, can include crash traces and related identifiers. Information collected depends on SDK configuration, device settings, and applicable consent. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you provide. Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive documents or PDF passwords.
4. Purposes and Third-Party Services
We use information to provide document functions, maintain preferences, deliver notifications and reminders, retrieve configuration, diagnose problems, improve reliability, analyze feature use, measure installation sources and advertising effectiveness, provide advertisements, prevent abuse, respond to support, and comply with legal obligations. The App uses the following services:
- Google AdMob: advertising delivery and measurement, using relevant IP address, identifiers, interactions, and diagnostic information. Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Google Analytics for Firebase: App usage and event analysis using analytics identifiers, technical attributes, and interactions. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Firebase Remote Config and Cloud Messaging (FCM): App configuration and push-message delivery, including installation identifiers, registration tokens, and relevant technical information. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Firebase Crashlytics, where enabled in the installed release: crash traces, installation identifiers, and device/App diagnostics for stability investigation. Firebase privacy information: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- TBA / ThinkingData analytics: feature, advertising, notification, and background events with associated technical attributes and identifiers for our analytics. Processing follows the configured deployment; using the SDK does not mean every record is accessible to the SDK vendor. SDK notice: https://docs.thinkingdata.cn/ta-manual/latest/installation/installation_menu/privacy_cn.html
- AppsFlyer: installation attribution, campaign measurement, and fraud prevention using installation/referrer information, identifiers, device attributes, and measured interactions. Services Privacy Policy: https://www.appsflyer.com/legal/services-privacy-policy/
These providers' policies supplement, but do not replace, our responsibilities. Processing that requires consent is subject to that consent. Where permitted by applicable law, processing can also support a requested service, a legal obligation, or a lawful interest in reliability and security. Non-personalized advertising can still involve technical processing. Accepting the Terms of Service is not consent to every advertising or analytics purpose.
5. Permissions, Notifications, and Background Activity
All-files access enables discovery, reading, organization, processing, and saving of supported documents across shared storage locations permitted by Android. This is broader than selecting a single file, but does not authorize uploading all document contents. Notification permission enables task notices, push messages, and document or usage reminders. Network connectivity supports the online services described above. This description does not claim that the App requests camera, microphone, contacts, precise-location, or display-over-other-apps permissions.
Notifications and related background behavior can include push messages, file-change checks, scheduled or periodic reminders, device-unlock events, leaving the App, and relevant system-navigation events. The App can continue associated background operations when its interface is not visible, including configuration updates and recording the activity and diagnostic events described above. Timing depends on configuration, Android restrictions, and device settings. These activities are not limited to short-lived document tasks you initiate in the foreground.
Manage permissions and notification channels in Android settings. Battery and background controls can also affect these features. Disabling notifications does not necessarily stop all background operations or erase information already transmitted. Force-stopping, clearing App storage, and uninstalling have different effects.
6. Disclosure, Retention, and Deletion
Information is processed by the services above and the operators of our configured backend and analytics systems for the disclosed purposes. We may disclose information where legally required or lawfully necessary to protect rights, security, or prevent abuse. A file you deliberately share or print goes to your chosen destination. We do not sell document contents. Advertising-related disclosures may have specific legal meanings, including "sale" or "sharing", under some regional laws; contact us to exercise applicable rights.
Local documents remain in their saved locations until you manage or delete them. Preferences, bookmarks, recent-item indexes, and temporary App data are retained while needed for their functions or until removed through available controls. Technical records follow configured retention settings and the time required to investigate faults, analyze App and advertising performance, prevent abuse, and meet lawful obligations. Support messages are retained for handling the request, follow-up, and applicable legal requirements. Third-party records also follow the relevant service's retention and deletion arrangements.
To request access or deletion, email asadali016761@gmail.com and identify PDF Nova - Reader & Editor. We may need proportionate information to identify relevant records and verify the request. We will explain a lawful retention requirement or an inability to identify records rather than promise deletion that cannot be performed. There is no App user account to close, but device and usage records can still be subject to privacy rights. Uninstalling does not automatically delete shared-storage files or records already transmitted to a service.
7. Security and International Processing
Our policy is to use safeguards appropriate to the information handled, including secure transport and access restrictions for transmitted personal information. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Protect your device and keep backups. PDF password protection does not guarantee encryption of every cache, thumbnail, metadata item, or backup. Online providers and configured infrastructure may process information outside your country, subject to applicable data-protection and transfer requirements. Contact us for information relevant to your request.
8. Your Choices, Rights, and Children's Information
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, obtain a portable copy, withdraw consent, or opt out of legally defined sale or sharing. Lawful exceptions and retention requirements can apply. You may also have a right to complain to a competent privacy authority. Use Android controls for permissions, notifications, and available advertising preferences; contact asadali016761@gmail.com for privacy requests. Closing a disclosure or continuing to use the App is not affirmative consent where consent is required.
We do not use document features to ask children to submit personal information. Any handling of a child's information remains subject to applicable age and parental-consent requirements. If you believe a child's information has been handled without an authorization required by law, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate corrective steps.
9. Policy Updates
We will update the date above when this policy changes, provide appropriate notice of material changes, and request additional consent where required. This policy is not advance authorization to introduce undisclosed providers or new data purposes.
TERMS OF SERVICE
1. Acceptance and Use
These Terms govern your use of PDF Nova - Reader & Editor, package com.pdf.nova.reader.editor, provided by Charlis Dev. If you do not accept them, do not use the App. You must have legal capacity to accept these Terms or a parent or guardian's authorization where applicable. Subject to these Terms and applicable law, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the App for its intended functions; ownership of the software and branding is not transferred.
2. Document Rights and Responsibilities
You retain your rights in your documents and images and are responsible for obtaining permission to read, modify, unlock, print, or share them. Do not use the App unlawfully, interfere with its security, distribute malicious content, infringe others' rights, or circumvent document protection without authorization. These Terms do not grant us an unrestricted right to commercialize your document contents or remove rights provided by applicable law.
Back up important files before operations that can change them. Check processed files before relying on results or removing originals. Editing, conversion, compression, merging, and splitting can change formatting, quality, metadata, or functionality. Keep passwords safely; we do not promise forgotten-password recovery. Follow the actual on-screen description when removing, deleting, or overwriting a file: removing a list entry and deleting a saved document are different actions. Sharing and printing transfer files to destinations you select, whose terms and practices also apply.
3. Advertising and Charges
The App is advertising-supported and has no user account, subscription, or in-App purchase. Any store download price, if applicable, is shown by the store before download. Advertisers or destinations reached through advertisements may offer their own products and charges; these are not subscriptions to this App. An advertisement is not a guarantee or endorsement by Charlis Dev. Any future change to the App's own charging model must be disclosed before a purchase and reflected in updated terms.
4. Features, Permissions, and Availability
Supported tools, formats, and results vary by release, file, device, and operating system. Viewing an office format does not necessarily mean that it can be edited. Permissions and background reminders operate as described in the Privacy Policy and can be managed through relevant Android controls. These Terms do not authorize undisclosed collection or replace a required prominent disclosure or consent.
We may update the App to improve functions, fix errors, address security issues, or respond to requirements. Compatibility with every document, printer, or third-party service is not guaranteed. Network-dependent services can be affected by availability and settings. You may stop using or uninstall the App; this does not necessarily remove shared-storage documents or previously transmitted information.
5. Disclaimer and Mandatory Rights
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, universal compatibility, or perfect processing results. Nothing in these Terms excludes mandatory consumer protections, statutory warranties, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any lawful limitation of indirect or consequential loss applies only to the extent permitted in your situation. Keeping backups does not remove our non-excludable obligations. These Terms do not require you to waive a mandatory local right or accept a particular arbitration process.
6. Updates and Contact
We will update the date above when these Terms change and provide appropriate notice of material changes. Changes requiring express agreement will be handled accordingly. A Terms update does not replace separate privacy consent. For questions, support, or privacy requests, contact:
