We are an international team of interdisciplinary student researchers exploring the human brain in space.
We first met during the 2025 ESA-ELGRA Gravity-Related Research Summer School, where we spent a week together at ESEC-Galaxia in Belgium (and another week online), getting to know each other and developing our first research plan.
Our shared interest for anything "brains in space" sparked many curious discussions. The most interesting ones were fueled by boundless creativity and long summer nights - and led to where we are today.
Lead Scientist
A neuroscience graduate with a passion for making complex ideas accessible. He has worked in labs in London and San Diego, delivered learning experiences across Ireland's cultural and natural heritage sites, and keeps track of the scientific ins and outs for our team. A true expert (and PhD!) in the making, he's our COMPASS for navigating the vast ocean of literature.
🇮🇪 - based in London, UK.
Project Engineer - Associated Scientist
A double-MSc student in psychology and biological engineering, he is making sure we, too, are on track and locked in! On holiday, his COMPASS didn't lead him to a beach getaway - he chose two weeks in isolation for a lunar space mission simulation in Poland. His interests might be in cognitive neuroscience and neuropsychology, but his background qualifies him as our project engineer - Congrats!
🇸🇪 - based in Linköping & Stockholm, Sweden.
Experimental Design - Associated Scientist
A cognitive neuroscientist and recent MSc graduate, she is off to new shores for her PhD in Canada! But we're confident that her calm and rational personality will keep recalibrating our COMPASS whenever things get choppy over here.
🇩🇪 - based in Montréal, Canada.
Outreach Lead - Associated Scientist
With a background in neuroscience and exercise science, she is driven to see the big picture of human physiology. When that picture grew larger than expected, her turn to astronaut physiology has given her a little more space (pun intended!) Committed to promoting scientific literacy in broad audiences, she enjoys breaking down complex ideas - being the public's COMPASS for navigating a crowded information landscape.
🇩🇪 - based in Stockholm, Sweden.
