🌱March 2nd: Exploring the Roots of Reactivity and Cultivating Conditions for Connection
How understanding our nervous system responses supports tenderness, clarity, and connection
This experiential session offers an accessible overview of how our nervous system shapes reactivity, stress, and connection. Reactivity doesn't only mean snapping or “flipping our lid,” but also patterns such as turning against ourselves through harsh inner criticism, shutting down, pulling away, or people-pleasing.
We’ll explore how reactivity in its many forms often reflects unmet needs for safety, support, connection and belonging. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, and needs-based communication, we can cultivate a sense of inner safety that allows understanding, authentic expression, and even joy to flow more freely.
This session includes gentle teaching, guided reflection, and simple experiential practices, offering participants language and practical tools to relate to themselves and others with more empathy, steadiness, authenticity and ease.
🪢 March 9th: Disentangling Perfectionism
Honoring the Intelligence of the Pattern While Loosening Its Grip
What if the pressure to get everything right once helped you feel safer or more connected?
Perfectionism often begins as an intelligent response to early experiences where safety, connection, or acceptance felt uncertain, unpredictable, or conditional. Striving to get everything “right” can become a way of trying to secure or protect connection and belonging.
What once offered protection can gradually turn into a pattern that keeps us tense, vigilant, and hard on ourselves. Over time, these patterns can become tightly woven into our nervous system, shaping how we relate to ourselves, our work, and our relationships.
In this experiential session, participants are invited to gently explore these patterns and begin loosening the tight link between performance and belonging, making space for greater flexibility, self-trust, and a more spacious and compassionate way of relating to ourselves, without abandoning care, responsibility, or integrity.
Together, we will explore how honoring the wisdom within these patterns can open the door to greater relational ease and deeper care for our capacity as we move through our lives.
🌿March 16th: From Surviving to Thriving
How cultivating safety in the body supports resilience and wellbeing
Many of us have learned to survive impressively. We push through difficulties, hold things together, and keep going even when things are hard. These capacities deserve respect. And at the same time, many people quietly notice that life can still feel overwhelming or unsustainable, even when they are doing their best to meet the many expectations and responsibilities of daily life.
In this experiential session, we will explore the difference between striving, surviving, and thriving, and how cultivating a sense of safety in the body can support greater resilience, vitality, and connection.
Through gentle practices, reflection, and shared exploration, participants will begin to notice how the nervous system shifts into protective survival strategies, and how small experiences of safety can gradually restore access to ease, creativity, and connection. Together we will explore what helps life feel more livable, sustainable, and nourishing.
⚖️ March 23rd: Gathering Our Energy Wisely for What Matters Most
Supporting what we can, releasing what we can’t
Overwhelm often arises when our energy is spread across too many places, especially those beyond our influence.
This session offers space to gently explore what is truly ours to attend to. We begin by sensing into our actual capacity as human beings, not just human doers. From there, we move into discerning where to direct our energy in ways that honor our values and meet the needs that matter most to us. We’ll also gently explore what it might mean to let go of what isn’t ours to carry, as an act of care.
Rather than encouraging disengagement, we cultivate a more sustainable relationship with care, allowing our energy to flow toward what genuinely matters, including ourselves. and to discover where even small shifts can create meaningful impact.
💗 March 30th: Trusting our Own Innocence and Turning Inward With Tenderness
Discover how softening self-criticism and releasing shame create space for new possibilities
This session offers space to gently turn toward ourselves with curiosity rather than correction. We begin by exploring what becomes possible when self-criticism softens and a sense of inner safety begins to emerge.
From there, we move into creating a personal mantra that can serve as a supportive inner companion. Rather than using affirmations that may feel forced or out of reach, we explore invitational language such as “May I…,” honoring where we are while gently opening toward what's possible.
This trauma-informed approach respects the body’s truth, offering language that can be received rather than resisted. Many participants leave with words that feel tender, grounding, and aligned with their lived experience, supporting continued self-compassion and integration between sessions.
💞 April 20th: Inviting Connection Through Clarity
How honest sharing of needs and capacity limits supports trust and relational ease
This session offers space to explore how clarity and transparency can become invitations to connection rather than barriers to it. We begin by noticing how we relate to our own needs and capacity limits, and what makes it easier or harder to share them.
From there, we explore how expressing ourselves with honesty and care can help others understand how to meet us more realistically, without pressure or demand. Together, we begin to sense how clarity can support connection rather than disrupt it.
Through gentle reflection and relational practices, we also explore how unspoken expectations can create strain or disconnection, and how bringing them into the open can support greater trust and understanding.
The focus is on offering clarity as a gift, supporting mutual understanding and creating pathways toward connection that feel more grounded, respectful, and easeful for everyone involved.

"Because of Heather and the principles of NVC, mindfulness, The Compass and the many other disciplines Heather shares, I am now, at 77 years old, learning the many unconscious ways my body and mind have been habitually programmed...bringing awareness where before there was little. In the gentlest, yet clearest manner possible, Heather has led our group through many exercises and discussions, bringing awareness where before there was little. Because of Heather's caring, compassionate heart, her skilled teaching methods, and her embodiment of the modalities she shares, we are experiencing the material intellectually through her references to brain science and developmental theory, viscerally, through practicing and experimenting with our bodies, and spiritually, through the presence and unconditional love and acceptance we all feel from Heather." ~ Margery Pricket, United States
“Heather is a person who gives herself without limits, without judgment, she is a being full of compassion, love, empathy, and resilience." ~ Carolina Zamorano, Columbia
