Q: How does the Qibla Finder determine the correct direction?
A: The app utilizes your device's built-in magnetometer (compass sensor) alongside GPS data to calculate the exact angle of the Kaaba in Mecca relative to your current global position.
Q: Why does the app need my location permission?
A: Location access is required to accurately calculate the Qibla direction from your exact coordinates. Without it, the app cannot determine your position relative to Mecca.
Q: Does the app work offline without an internet connection?
A: Yes. The compass and Qibla direction features can work offline using your device's GPS and hardware sensors. However, loading map views or sharing your live location will require an active internet connection.
Q: Why is my compass pointing in the wrong direction or spinning?
A: This is usually caused by electromagnetic interference from nearby metal objects, electronic devices, or magnetic phone cases. It can easily be fixed by calibrating your device (see the Tips section below).
Q: How does the "Levels Adjuster" feature work?
A: The level feature uses your phone’s internal accelerometer to detect tilt. For the most accurate compass and Qibla readings, your phone needs to be perfectly flat, and the bubble or indicator should line up in the center.
Q: Is my live location data saved or tracked?
A: No. Your privacy is our priority. Live location sharing is done entirely at your discretion and is only transmitted to the specific friends or family members you choose to share it with.
Calibrate Regularly: Before checking directions, perform a "figure-8" motion in the air with your phone. This recalibrates the internal compass sensor for maximum precision.
Remove Magnetic Cases: Avoid using phone cases with magnetic clasps, metal plates, or ring holders, as they heavily interfere with the compass sensor.
Keep It Flat: Use the built-in Levels Adjuster to ensure your phone is resting completely flat. Holding the phone at an angle can cause the compass reading to drift.
Stay Clear of Interference: Step away from heavy electronic equipment, laptops, magnets, or large metal structures (like reinforced concrete walls) when trying to find the Qibla.
Enable High-Accuracy Location: For the fastest and most precise readings, ensure your device's location settings are set to "High Accuracy" or "Precise Location."
