Alex Cabral is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech. Her research is focused on community co-designed environmental sensing systems to produce longitudinal actionable data. She holds a leadership role in the STRONG Manoomin Collective, in which she works with Indigenous communities for environmental and climate justice.
Julia McKenna is the Data Steward for the STRONG Manoomin Collective, which focuses on data collection, analysis, and visualization for Manoomin, a wild rice that grows natively in the Great Lakes region. She has a M.Sc. in Smart and Sustainable Cities from Trinity College Dublin and is interested in community engaged data science, sustainability, and social justice.
Moeiini ‘Moi’ Reilly is a PhD student and Research Technologist at Georgia Tech. His research interests include Cybersecurity and STEM education, and he is a passionate advocate for accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Moi’s Pasefika, Hispanic, and Rural roots drive his passion for a sustainable future through community-oriented workforce development and experiential education
Josiah Hester is Kānaka Maoli, or Native Hawaiian, and Associate Professor at Georgia Tech working on sustainable computing, Indigenous data sovereignty, and ancestral technologies. He leads the Center for Advancing Responsible Computing and co-directs the STRONG Manoomin Collective, seeking to forefront Indigenous voices in management of our ancestral lands.
