Cause and Effect Medical Essay Topics and Future of Science Education

The question that is often asked about essay topics that deal with causes and effects is this. You see, the medical world has a bit of a problem with taking 'idea' of cause and effect from other fields. If you have ever heard a doctor say something about a disease, be it cancer or anything else, that the patient had a specific cause and effect, you can understand the kind of problem this creates.

Patients need to be able to hear the end result of their illness. In fact, if you were to ask any patient, they would probably say that doctors should spend more time explaining what they do not have instead of talking about how the patient got sick. It is not that patients don't know what is happening to them; it is just that they don't understand how a disease is affecting them, nor do they want to.

One of the issues that the medical field has is that the conventional theory of how diseases occur is taken from the great theorists and scientists of the past. Unfortunately, these theoretical treatments and cures were quite often incorrect. The cause-and-effect hypotheses from those days have proven to be incredibly unreliable, so there is really no reason to keep using them. That said, this leaves many questions for the future of science, and medical education, as well as the future of the entire field of medicine.

However, we can take this issue one step further by looking at how science and medicine today are broken down into terms that are easily understood by those who care about the welfare of their patients. A good example is diabetes. The cause-and-effect theory has been a bit flawed, but at least, it gives a good starting point for doctors and scientists to try to understand why someone gets diabetes.

Fortunately, we are now in a better position than we were even just five years ago, because of new technology, education, and a better understanding of how medicine works in the health care world. Once the cause-and-effect concepts are accepted as valid, the rest is merely a matter of understanding the mechanics and application of science. People will have the ability to communicate better with each other, as well as with their doctors.

As a practical matter, this also means that the science used in medical classes in the future will be quite different from the science used in medical schools today. For instance, we may use cancer cells as a stand-in for cancer, but the reason for that will not necessarily be the same as the reason why the basic cause of cancer has to do with cell division and dividing. This should be more acceptable to patients and people in general, who should be more in tune with the fact that cancer can be genetically inherited as well as caused by environmental factors, for example.

The truth is that there are many unanswered questions, and this includes cause and effect essay medical topics. There is much to learn about this subject, but as long as we continue to look at all of the options available to us, we should get the answers we need.
