The Great Lakes Community Review Board charges a nominal fee to review research projects. These fees help compensate reviewers, fund educational and outreach efforts, and provide wages for staff. As a not-for-profit organization, the review fees provide one vital revenue but do not cover all annual expenses.
However, we also recognize that not all researchers or organizations can pay. We do not want the inability to pay to become a barrier to project reviews, so we offer fee waivers to many applicants.
Our fee schedule is based on the overall project budget. The budget is an indicator of project complexity and the ability to pay for professional review services that will increase the project's strength and rigor.
Project Budget Review Fee
$50,000 + $325
$25,000 - $49,999 $275
$15,000 - $24,999 $250
$10,000 - $14,999 $150
$5,000 - $9,999 $100*
$4,999 - below $50*
*Note: during our prototyping of the Great Lakes Community Review Board, all projects with a budget of $0-$9,999 will be automatically granted a fee waiver. This fee waiver will be applied regardless if a fee waiver application is submitted or not.
