Culture is the shared traditions and customs of a particular community. Culture includes foods, clothing, rituals, language, and family structure.
After the lesson, use the link to go to our interactive whiteboard and add 2-3 sticky notes under each heading. Try not to repeat any that are already there. Remember: All your classmates can see this, and please do not delete anyone's work.
In a Google Doc, a Word doc, or in your Social Studies journal, please write at least 2 paragraphs answering one of the following questions.
1. If you were going to create a new shared tradition, what would it be? Describe your new tradition and explain how people would participate or practice it.
2. Think about your community. Describe some of the different cultures and traditions that make up your neighborhood.
Create a postcard from your community. Create a drawing the expresses the culture of your community and write a few sentences to describe it as if you were sending a postcard from a far away place.
