Communicating Ideas Workshop 2019
A Cottrell Scholars Collaborative
As scientists we readily recognize the importance of our own work, but to give it value, we need to share it with others. Communicating ideas effectively can be especially challenging across different audiences and with different goals in mind. This workshop introduces tools, delivery methods, and skills that help us transform our scientific products and ideas into useful information, accessible for our colleagues, journalists, legislators, and the public.
In the spirit of CSC, incorporating science communication content into teaching and research education will be a special focus. The workshop will enable participants to effectively communicate scientific ideas and aims to develop SciComm sponsors within the research and academic communities.
Join us, our expert facilitators (ACS, AAAS, and AAU), and NPR’s Joe Palca (keynote speaker for the workshop) to learn more about:
- Fundamentals of public engagement
- Tools for engaging other communities
