Section NExT Workshop with Darryl Yong
4:00-5:30pm after the MAA SoCal-NV Section Meeting at Pomona College on 4/23/22
Title: Practical strategies for implementing active learning equitably and sustainably
Abstract: Active learning has many documented benefits both for students and instructors. Moreover, there is increasing evidence that it benefits women, students of color, and first-general college students. In this session, we'll focus on some practical strategies for making active learning equitable and also sustainable for us as instructors.
This Section NExT Workshop is free to all. If you are a junior scholar who participates in this workshop, COMMIT-CaN will pay your registration for the whole Section Meeting! If a small amount of travel funding would help you attend the conference, COMMIT-CaN hopes to be able to help with that. Also, COMMIT-CaN will pay for dinner for workshop participants [assuming the number of participants is manageable] after the event.
