Saving Energy With A Solar Powered Boiler
Stephen Taylor works in environment, but he does not leave his environmental concerns at home when he returns to work. Stephen is a social conscience, as evident by his purchase of a solar thermal heating boiler system.
Stephen decided that the replacement for his gas boiler in Warrington's detached house was needed to benefit from the sun's free energy. Stephen was fully aware of the potential cost implications. He said, "I am aware that solar technology has long-term benefits." But, I was determined to do something that would benefit the environment.
The flat-plate solar collector, roof fixing kit, unvented 90 litre cylinder, and glycol-free drainage unit make up the solar package. It is also designed to be used with a combination boiler. It is more efficient than traditional solar thermal systems that work with a boiler setup.
Industrial Heater Repair / Service The heart of the solar boiler's solar boiler is a smart, solar valve that ensures that the main boiler will only ever be used to heat water. The solar valve is activated when there is an immediate demand for hot water. Pre-heated water from the sun flows out of the cylinder. It flows directly to the tap when the water temperature is 60oC or higher. If it is below 60oC, the water will be heated by the sun.
Although payback times are important, solar boilers can make a significant impact on reducing harmful carbon emissions and monthly fuel costs. Independent tests have shown that solar boilers can cut down on gas consumption by as much as 60%.
Stephen researched the available products online. He states that there were two types of heating systems: one that heats water for central heating, and another that heats water only. Because I was concerned about not getting the best out of the central heating option, I chose to choose the latter. The central heating is turned off, so the solar technology does nothing in the heat of summer.
He said, "I went to one website and found a smart solar boiler. I was scrolling through the pages and noticed that a local heating technician - whom I knew - was listed. So I called him."

The system comes complete with flexible stainless-steel hoses for return and feed. It measures 2230x1120x92mm.
The supplied roof flashing and fixing kit allows the collector to be "set into" the roof, so it is flush with the tiles. A kit can also be purchased that allows the collector to be attached to the tiles.
