Hover over the points on the map to see the name of each monument, when it was erected, and a brief description of it. The points on this map should not be considered comprehensive. No comprehensive database of commemorative sites in Hyde Park exists, especially one that takes a broad view of what constitutes a commemorative site, so we tried our best to build one. We may have missed some things. If we have, we would love to know about them.
You can also explore the tabs on the map to learn more about how the types of memorials—and types of people and events memorialized—in Hyde Park have varied over time. (Note that some of the visualizations exclude sites where only partial information—e.g. about the date of a monument's construction or the race or gender of its subject—was available to us.)
Check out the final tab for sources we used to learn more about each site and suggestions for further reading.
