Privacy Policy

The short version: CommandData does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. Your game data lives entirely in your own Google Sheet — we never see it.

1. Overview

CommandData is a Magic: The Gathering Commander life counter and game statistics tracker for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. We are committed to your privacy and have designed CommandData from the ground up to operate without collecting any personal data.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

CommandData does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

•       Your name, email address, or any other contact information

•       Account credentials or login information

•       Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data

•       Usage analytics or behavioral data

•       Crash reports sent to any third-party service

•       Any other personally identifiable information

3. How Your Data Is Stored

All game data — including player names, life totals, commander information, and match history — is stored in two places you control:

On Your Device

Game data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData). This data never leaves your device unless you choose to sync it.

In Your Google Sheet

If you use the Google Sheets sync feature, your game data is written to a Google Sheet that you create and own. CommandData connects to your Sheet through a Google Apps Script web app that you deploy yourself. We have no access to your Sheet, your Google account, or any data within it. Your data is governed entirely by Google's own privacy policy and your Google account settings.

4. Third-Party Services

Scryfall API

CommandData uses the Scryfall API (scryfall.com) to fetch Magic: The Gathering card artwork and commander color identity information. Requests to Scryfall include only card names — no personal information is ever sent. Scryfall's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Google Sheets (Optional)

The Google Sheets sync feature is entirely optional. If you choose to use it, all communication is between your device and the Google Sheet you own. CommandData does not act as an intermediary and has no visibility into this data.

5. No Ads, No Tracking

CommandData contains no advertisements, no tracking SDKs, and no analytics frameworks. We do not use cookies, pixels, or any other tracking technologies. Your use of the app is entirely private.

6. Children's Privacy

Because CommandData does not collect any personal information from any user, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 or any other age group.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Because we do not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please check back here periodically if this is a concern.
