In online play and computer skirmish, both Allied and Soviet forces have access to the transport helicopters and the missile silo, which is not available to either side in single-player mode (though missile silos are found in some Soviet bases in the latter half of the Allied campaign). In online play and computer skirmishes, the Soviets have access to two of the Allied side's infantry: the Rocket Soldier (for anti-air and anti-tank fighting) and Tanya, a commando capable of easily killing infantry and destroying structures with demolition charges.

So I brought up playing C&C recently. My first game of C&C was Red alert retaliation on playstation 1. I remembered how the infantry bullets were little orange dots and the sound of "Unit lost. Unit lost.". So nostalgic.

I guess it's time to finally show my Red Alert project I've been mentioning! All the skills I've learned making the Heroes of Might & Magic and Command & Conquer scenarios mentioned above is now being put into the hardest scenario I have ever attempted! A Red Alert 2 Siege of New York scenario where you'll be battling it out in city streets between huge sky scrapers.. and yes I know I'm crazy as that's totally something the Civ2 engine wasn't built for hahaha!


Here are the first 3 dev diaries on the Red Alert 2 Siege of New York scenario. Disclaimer - Hopefully the final product will be waaaaay better than all these WIP test shots but I gotta start somewhere haha.


In this first dev diary we look at experimenting with Civ2's terrain limits & using some sneaky tricks to begin creating a Red Alert 2 style city map with Liberty island, bridges and buildings.

Can the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) & it's own Faction, stop the Alien from conquering the Earth again or can they really prevent the Tiberium from spreading across the globe once more.

This mod are terrible lol. Since those Command and conquer 3 Faction Overpowered and non of those faction come from Yuri revenge are not working but i appreciate it that you put Command and conquer 3 Faction in the game but just need a fix for the balance for the gameplay while the C&C 3 Infantry are completely overpowered just 0.01 second to train and you got your Rifleman and neither got some problem with Economy stuff in like tried to put a Tiberium field and Refinery on it and Harvester wont collect the Tiberium just stuck in there and althrought the blackhand is the problem that this Unit is completely too OP

The story of the Red Alert series takes place in an alternate timeline, where Albert Einstein has discovered a way to travel back in time and has erased Adolf Hitler from existence. Unbeknownst to Einstein, this backfires and causes Joseph Stalin and the Soviets to rise to power. This is what the games are based in, with most putting the player in the shoes of an Allied commander, fighting the Soviets.

The gameplay twist within the campaign is the addition of a co-commander. If you play on your own, this position will be granted to an AI player of a fair level of competence, and you'll be able to issue basic one-click commands, such as "hold this spot" or "attack this structure." There are also some contextual commands when mission objectives get more intricate and require very specific actions, such as destroying a reactor or capturing a building. This addition makes the largest campaign missions feel wonderfully dramatic, with engagements scattered across the map involving not just your own units but friendly ones as well. It also adds a bit more oomph to the light puzzle-solving missions so common to the genre ("take these three units and follow these specific instructions"), because it requires the assistance of your compatriot. On the other hand, it makes the campaign easier than you would expect, seeing as how your AI comrade will usually buy you enough time to rebuild if you make a costly mistake.
