All of the assignments listed below will be described in greater detail via Canvas. Rubrics or appropriate grading criteria are always included with those assignments, as well.
These activities are designed to strengthen your knowledge of interpersonal communication concepts, as well as interact with your classmates. Each activity will relate to recent reading/theory. The activities are listed each week on Canvas and on our course calendar.
There will be five opportunities for you to speak in class regarding your interpersonal experiences and challenges. These presentations are brief and meant to increase your application and experiences of interpersonal communication. These presentations also serve to better your communication style and interactions with fellow classmates. See the calendar or Canvas modules for topics and due dates.
Quizzes will be on Canvas and related to recent reading. They will be multiple-choice and/or short answer questions. Each quiz will end with a place to ask questions so that I may answer and clarify ideas for the next week. The quizzes can be taken multiple times before the due date and they have no time limit.
This paper will critically examine your interpersonal relationships and conflict communication using key terms discussed and developed in class. Papers should be 4-5 pages, typed, double- spaced, and include APA citations. See the individual assignment description for more information.
For this project, you and 2-3 classmates will act as a consulting group that has been hired to help us improve our skills within a specific interpersonal concept that isn’t covered in class. To do this, you will select and research a specific interpersonal communication concept, build fun tutorials or an informational visual, and then provide a 15-20 minute group presentation in class. Your annotated bibliography and visual aid will be submitted shortly after your presentation. See the assignment for more information.
*This project can be individually, if you wish (presentation time limit will be adjusted)
