Teams

We have two options for players to get involved in Comet Volleyball Club: recreational league teams or competitive tournament teams. League and tryout information will be shared in the fall, and registration information for all ages will be promoted on the North Polk Camps webpage.

Here is some additional information on each league, tryouts (for 5th grade and up), registration details, our AAU Club code, and uniforms.

Recreational League Teams

Cost to participate: $100

4th grade teams will be recreational league only. 5th-6th graders have the option to participate in a recreational league team. 

The recreational season will start with some optional open gym times in December (but highly encouraged!), and an assigned team for club practice, club scrimmages, and some weekend games from January through the beginning of March. Recreational league teams will be invited to participate in the North Polk AAU tournament. All recreational league players will receive a Comet Volleyball Club jersey.

Knee pads are recommended.

Black shorts should be worn for games (any style is fine).

4th and 5th grade players must bring their own Volley-Lite ball to practice, marked with their name.

Competitive Tournament Teams

Cost to participate: $150

5th-9th graders have the option to participate in an evaluation/tryout process in December to be placed on a competitive tournament team. Please note there is not an option for 4th grade to participate in a competitive tournament team.

The competitive season runs January through March. Teams will have at least one practice per week for one hour. Costs include up to 4 AAU weekend tournaments, plus an invitation to participate in the North Polk AAU tournament. All competitive tournament players will receive a Comet Volleyball Club jersey.

Knee pads are required.

Black volleyball shorts should be worn for games.

5th grade players must bring their own Volley-Lite ball to practice, marked with their name.

Registration and Fees

AFTER the evaluation/tryout process is completed for competitive tournament teams, all teams will be announced for all players. A RYZER registration will be sent out to collect club fees. 

Evaluation/Tryout Information

Please view the Comet Volleyball Club calendar for the most up-to-date tryout information, currently scheduled for December.  

Players are not expected to attend a volleyball open gym or evaluation/tryout session when they have another school event. We ask that players come to a minimum of 2 sessions, but they attend as many as they would like.

Girls are also asked to wear a shirt with a number on it (last year's jersey or another shirt with a number is fine). Please use the same number to all tryout/evaluation sessions. Numbers will be available if a player doesn't have a shirt with a number on it. 

Practices

All practices will be Monday through Thursday from 5:30-8:30 pm in North Polk Middle School Gym #1. Practice times will be communicated by coaches once teams are announced.

Uniforms

All club players will receive the same Comet Volleyball Club jersey.

AAU Volleyball Membership Info

In addition to the club fee, all players and coaches are required to have a current AAU Membership.
