ComeAlong ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service to discover, create, and participate in local activities and meetups.
1. Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture provided by Google OAuth.
- Location Information: With your explicit permission, ComeAlong accesses your device's foreground location (coarse and fine location) strictly to show you relevant activities happening nearby in your city. We do NOT track your location in the background.
- User-Generated Content: Activities you create, activity descriptions, tags, cover photos, participant comments, and messages sent in activity group chats.
- Photos & Media: If you choose to upload profile pictures or activity photos, we access only the specific images you select via the system photo picker.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information solely to:
- Enable you to discover, create, and join activities in your city.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between activity hosts and participants.
- Provide activity updates and notification alerts.
- Protect against abuse, spam, and fraudulent activity.
We do NOT sell, rent, or monetize your personal information to any third parties or advertisers.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is securely stored using Google Cloud & Firebase infrastructure. Industry-standard encryption (HTTPS / TLS) is enforced for all data transmissions between the ComeAlong app and our servers.
4. Account and Data Deletion
You have full control over your personal data:
- In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated personal data directly within the app at any time by navigating to Settings > Delete Account.
- Web Deletion Request: If you have uninstalled the app or wish to request data deletion, you may contact us at our support email with the subject "Data Deletion Request". All personal identifiers, profile data, and created activities will be permanently deleted within 7 business days.
5. Third-Party Services
ComeAlong integrates standard, secure third-party services:
- Google Sign-In: For secure user authentication.
- Firebase / Google Cloud: For database storage, file hosting, and push notifications.
6. Children's Privacy
ComeAlong is not intended for use by children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
7. Child Safety Standards & Zero Tolerance
ComeAlong has zero tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or any form of child exploitation. Any reported content or accounts violating child safety standards will be immediately removed, and offenders will be permanently banned.
