The Combinatorics Online Discord server was started by three early career graduate students (Katie Waddle, Jodi McWhirter, and Ashleigh Adams) in 2022 as a server strictly for graduate students in combinatorics (considered broadly). The server grew to 450 graduate students all over the world entirely via word of mouth by 2025, and has since been opened to other members of the combinatorics community, mostly postdoctoral researchers and faculty. We are now a community of 700 mathematicians, and still growing!
Combinatorics Online aims to provide an easy to access location for:
Announcing and sharing information about upcoming conferences and opportunities
Sharing and asking questions about interesting math
Sharing and asking questions about the profession
The server is now operated by a Steering Committee of graduate students who will hold and steer the bigger vision for the server, and Moderators across the community who will help run the server.
Interested in joining? You can use this link to join. Note there is a short (1 question!) application, this is mostly for security, and to make sure folks know what they are joining.
Feel free to contact any one of our steering committee members or moderators below with any questions or concerns!
