Bee Education "We can teach anything through bees!"
We come from the Belly of the Beast, diasporic futures, gypsy moth caterpillars, coffee beans, rice & honey. We are granddaughters of climate scientists and stewards of the land. We see an inequitable world and want to witness our communities grow into just, joyful societies. We are stepping into an era in which our purpose is clearer and we know we want to dive deeper into education. We believe we can teach anything through bees and we’re putting our energy into creating the tools to do so.
About our work
We are a worker-owned cooperative of bee educators. Living in South Florida we serve our community through interactive educational workshops, people-focused sustainability programming, and thoughtfully handmade-made bee products. We have worked with local Organizations such as Urban Greenworks, Catalyst Miami, Miami Climate Alliance, Miami Dream Defenders, O'Miami, and many more
We are incredibly proud of our trajectory and are immensely committed to continue bringing imaginative spaces that empower and inform our neighbors.
Our History
We were founded by Monique Moyer and Rebecca Wood. Combcutters was rooted and intended to work as a part of ideas and communities bigger than ourselves. Like the bees in their many ecosystems, it was understood from the beginning that whatever we manage to create here, can and will extend to everyone that surrounds us. In 2017 Ana Samantha joined the team. Over the years, we have partnered with various individuals and organizations to bring workshops, projects, and bee yards to life. Always with access, and impact in mind.
