Thank you so much for participating in Social Determinants of Health Month put on by Student Physicians for Social Responsibility! Below, please find the criteria on how you can apply for an IP Honor’s Distinction through attending events put on by us throughout the month of October.
The Interprofessional Honors Distinction (IP Honors) offered by the Center to Advance Interprofessional Education and Practice (CAIEP) is unique to UNE and a nationally accredited micro-credential that recognizes students who show a high level of commitment to developing excellence in team-based competencies and skills. Please complete this form after:
1. You have attended and reflected on 2 interprofessional events listed on our website. Attendance will be tracked through the scanning of QR codes given at the beginning of the event. You MUST fill this out in order to receive credit for being there. If you do not fill this out by the end of the event, you will not receive credit for being present.
2. Your reflection includes your thoughts on how the event did, or did not, address one of the IPEC competencies.
3. You have identified a faculty mentor who will read over and approve your reflections based on the core competencies listed below. You have provided the reflections to your mentor in a Google folder with sharing settings adjusted to "Anyone with the link".
4. Your mentor has read and approved your reflections. You may be asked to revise the reflection if it doesn’t critically reflect upon the competency.
5. Your mentor has emailed their approval of your reflections and application to CECE@une.edu around the same time you complete this application.

To achieve the distinction, you must write reflections that are one page in length and address one or more of the 4 core National IPEC competencies. See below:
Values and Ethics: Work with team members to maintain a climate of shared values, ethical conduct, and mutual respect.
Roles and Responsibilities: Use the knowledge of one’s own role and team members’ expertise to address health outcomes.
Communication: Communicate in a responsive, responsible, respectful, and compassionate manner with teammates, colleagues, and patients.
Teamwork: Apply values and principles of team science to adapt one’s own role in a variety of team settings.

Reflections:
Your application for the IP Honors Distinction can include up to two of the interprofessional events listed on the SDoHM website. These events are designed to encompass the four IPEC competencies.
For the full IP Honors application, it’s best to complete your reflection for each of the four events (one reflection per event) soon after attendance. Your mentor must approve these reflections in order for CAIEP to count them towards the Honors Distinction. It is your responsibility to upload the approved reflections to your personal ePortfolio.
